Autumn Lecture Series: Síle Murphy – The Mercy Nuns of Kilmacthomas Workhouse

Join us for a the next lecture with Guest Speaker Síle Murphy as we step back in time to explore The Lives of the Mercy Nuns as Nursing Sisters in Kilmacthomas Workhouse, from 1870 Until its Closure. We will learn more about the significance of the Workhouse, gain an insight on the daily lives the Mercy Nuns, their impact and legacy.

Síle Murphy is a retired National School teacher with a lifelong interest in the history of the Comeraghs and Kilmacthomas.

This lecture will take place on Monday 24th November at the Dunhill Multi-Education Centre, Block B, Dunhill Ecopark, Dunhill, Eircode X91 FVF9. Starting at 10:45am for refreshments with the lecture commencing at 11:00am. It will be followed by a Questions and Answers session. The admission fee is €5.
